Rebel Rock Racing will make the switch to full-time SRO America competition this year, having confirmed its entry into GT World Challenge America powered by AWS with an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.
The Frank DePew-owned team, which claimed victory in last week’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Daytona International Speedway in a one-off appearance, will see DePew joined by Robin Liddell at the wheel in GTWC America competition.
“I’m really looking forward to campaigning our new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo with Frank in the GTWC America this year,” said Liddell, who also serves as team principal.
“We had a lot of fun driving the car in a recent test at Sebring but we also recognize it is a decent step up in terms of increased performance as well as a new technical challenge.
“So after some deliberation we decided that the GTWC series would be the ideal place for us to compete in 2026 as we look to make that jump and get to grips with the new car.”
The team has been a longtime competitor in Pilot Challenge competition, first with Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R machinery before becoming the first team in North America to campaign the new Evo-specification of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4.
Its new venture into GT3 racing coincides with a format change in the SRO America-run series, which will feature three-hour headline races for all events except the season-ending Indianapolis 8 Hour presented by AWS, which will again also close out the Intercontinental GT Challenge season.
The GTWC America season kicks off at Sonoma Raceway on March 27-29.
