The date of SRO America’s trip to Sebring International Raceway has been moved in order to avoid a clash with Ferrari Challenge North America.
Confirmed by organizers on Friday, next year’s Sebring event, which was originally scheduled for May 15-17, has been moved up by one week to May 8-10.
The new date, which now falls on the same weekend as the FIA World Endurance Championship round at Spa-Francorchamps, however, also alleviates a direct clash with the Nürburgring 24.
According to a statement from SRO America, the adjustment comes in “collaboration” with Ferrari Challenge to ensure that “all drivers, teams, and partners across both championships have full access to the Sebring paddock.”
The IMSA-sanctioned Ferrari Challenge series is scheduled to race at Circuit of The Americas on SRO America’s originally announced Sebring date.
“This change reflects our shared commitment to supporting competitors and enhancing the experience for fans, teams, and the sport as a whole,” the statement continued.
It has also been confirmed that the three-hour headline GT World Challenge America powered by AWS race that weekend will be held at night, on Sat. May 9.
“Our goal is always to put the competitors first, and this schedule change allows us to do just that,” said SRO America President and CEO Greg Gill.
“We appreciate the cooperation from our friends at Sebring International Raceway and Ferrari Challenge North America and look forward to putting on a great event.
“Sebring is a historic and challenging circuit, and we’re excited to showcase our teams and drivers there in an exciting capacity.”
The date change also impacts the Pirelli GT4 America and GT America powered by AWS schedule.
