GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS has released a revised 2026 schedule with a new date for the season finale on the streets of Beijing.

Previously slated for Oct. 16-17, the curtain-closer using a temporary layout in the Chinese capital will now take place two weeks earlier on Oct. 3-4.

A desire to hold the race in warmer weather and coincide with the national ‘Golden Week’ holiday were cited as the main reasons for the change, as organizer SRO Motorsports Group Asia aims to build on a successful first running of the event this year.

Another side effect is to eliminate a clash with the final round of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup at Portimao, which could lead to an increase in availability for factory drivers with other commitments to participate.

However, the date change creates a new conflict with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Motul Petit Le Mans season finale, in which many of the world’s top GT3 drivers are also expected to be present.

The remainder of the six-round schedule remains unchanged, with the new season kicking off at Sepang in Malaysia on the first weekend of April.

2026 GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS Schedule:
April 4-5 — Sepang
May 2-3 — Mandalika
June 5-6 — Shanghai
July 11-12 — Fuji
Aug. 29-30 — Okayama
Oct. 3-4 — Beijing
