Origine Motorsport has revealed its driver lineups for its three-car GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS assault this year as the title-winning outfit expands to a third Porsche 911 GT3 R for the upcoming season.

The No. 87 car will once again be driven by Leo Ye Hongli and Yuan Bo as they seek to defend their 2024 overall crown, although they will be entered into the main Pro-Am category this year rather than the Silver-Am class as previously.

Lu Wei meanwhile returns to the sister No. 4 Porsche, with Bastian Buus and Alessio Picariello set to share co-driver duties across the course of the season, taking on three rounds of the six-round schedule each.

It adds to an already-busy calendar for Picariello in particular, with the Belgian already signed up for the European Le Mans Series, GTWC Europe Endurance Cup and a partial schedule in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup for AO Racing.

Buus is set to partner Lu in next weekend’s Sepang opener, as Picariello will be away on GTWC Europe duties with Rutronik Racing at Paul Ricard.

Origine will maintain a presence in the Silver-Am ranks with its new No. 86 entry to be piloted by Anders Fjordbach and Li Kerong.

Earlier in the week, BMW Team Studie, which returns to GTWC Asia this season after withdrawing from SUPER GT, announced its driver pairing for the new season.

Seiji Ara will partner Tomohide Yamaguchi aboard the No. 5 BMW M4 GT3 EVO in a reprisal of the Japanese team’s lineup in 2022 and ’23.
