The No. 19 GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3 that won the opening round of the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series has been excluded from the event after it failed the post race inspection.
Fabio Babini, Andrew Palmer and Jeroen Mul dominated the first round of the season at Monza and finished in first place, 37 seconds ahead of the No. 333 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari 458 Italia GT3.
After the race the car was disqualified, when the stewards of the meeting deemed the refueling restrictor used on the car did not conform to the regulations.
GRT Grasser Racing Team has already appealed the exclusion, which means the results of the three-hour race remain provisional for the time being.
It has provisionally promoted the Rinaldi Ferrari of Norbert Siedler and Rinat Salikhov as race winners, pending the decision of GRT’s appeal.
