Blancpain stalwart AH Competiçoes Team Brasil will switch to the brand-new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in 2016.
Following three seasons with the BMW Z4 GT3, team principal Antonio Hermann confirmed to Sportscar365 that he sees no future with BMW anymore.
The Brazilian squad won’t trade their Z4s for the new M6 GT3, which has been a moderate success so far with only a handful of teams expected to campaign the new car in 2016.
AH Competiçoes Team Brasil will instead continue in the Blancpain GT Series with two Huracán GT3s.
At the beginning of the year Hermann indicated his team was evaluating different GT3 models for 2016, but still expected they would most likely opt for the M6.
After the Total 24 Hours of Spa the team dropped the ‘BMW Sports Trophy Team’ title from its name.
Maxime Martin and Dirk Müller scored the only victory for the Hermann and Washington Bezerra-led squad at the Nogaro season opener, while Valdeno Brito and Atila Abreu were in the title hunt until the final two rounds.
Hermann indicated his team would remain 100 percent Brazilian, although it might change one or two drivers in its lineup.
