Jimmy Eriksson has crashed the No. 84 HTP Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 out of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, as he was running fourth position.
The Swede had just lost third place to Connor De Phillippi’s No. 2 Audi Sport Team WRT Audi R8 LMS after the six-hour mark, and was pushing to keep the next car behind.
The bronze-colored Mercedes clipped the apex of the Raidillon corner too aggressively, which unsettled the car and made it spin into the barriers.
The Swede got out of the car under his own steam and appeared to be OK at first sight.
Eriksson’s teammates Maxi Buhk and Franck Perera were second in the overall Blancpain GT Series standings heading into the weekend.
The No. 55 Kaspersky Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 continues to lead in the hands of Marco Cioci, ahead of De Phillippi, who pipped the No. 63 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in the pit during the neutralization.
