Dennis Marschall went fastest in the opening Free Practice session for the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup finale at Valencia, which was red flagged and subsequently abandoned due to track repairs.
The German steered the No. 74 Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 GT3, which is entered in the Bronze Cup, to a best lap of 1:32.156.
Marschall led a Ferrari 1-2, with Chris Lulham second in the No. 69 Emil Frey Racing Ferrari, 0.112 seconds behind and leading Gold Cup.
Thomas Fleming slotted into third aboard the No. 58 Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, with the Silver Cup-leading No. 992 Paradine Competition BMW M4 GT3 EVO fourth in the hands of Maxime Oosten.
The fastest Pro car was the No. 35 Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo piloted by Matteo Villagomez in fifth overall, ahead of the No. 777 Al Manar Racing by WRT BMW and the No. 88 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.
The session was largely interrupted due to track damage at Turn 2, which initially resulted in two extension of 20 minutes before it was abandoned.
Pre-Qualifying at Valencia is scheduled at 3 p.m. CEST (9 a.m. EST).
