Portimao will host the final round of the Endurance Cup season when it rejoins the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS calendar for the first time in over a decade next year, SRO Motorsports Group has confirmed.
As first announced during SRO’s traditional press conference ahead of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa back in June, the Portuguese venue is set to feature on the GTWC Europe schedule for the first time since 2015 when it hosted a round of what was then called the Blancpain Sprint Series.
The series will visit the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve on Oct. 17-18, although it had not yet been previously stated whether that would be in a Sprint or Endurance capacity.
It has now been confirmed that Portimao will host a three-hour Endurance Cup race to round out the calendar, with Barcelona reverting back to a Sprint Cup event similarly to 2024.
The rest of the calendar has remained effectively unchanged compared to this season, with Paul Ricard kicking off the season with the traditional six-hour Endurance Cup opener.
In addition to the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, Monza and the Nürburgring remain part of the Endurance Cup schedule, while the Sprint Cup calendar consists of Brands Hatch, Misano, Magny-Cours, Zandvoort and Barcelona.
