Alex Riberas and Audi Sport Team WRT led a 1-2 for the German manufacturer in Pre-Qualifying for the Total 24 Hours of Spa on Thursday.
The Spaniard posted a best time of 2:19.758 in the closing stages of the 60-minute session to topple Markus Winkelhock’s time, the first sub-2:20 lap of the weekend, in the Audi Sport Team Sainteloc car.
Riberas shares the No. 1 WRT Audi R8 LMS GT3 with Dries Vanthoor and Christopher Mies and leads the Blancpain GT Series standings.
The pair of Pro Cup Porsche 911 GT3 Rs finished third and fourth with the Team75 Bernhard car ahead of the Manthey Racing entry.
Grasser Racing Team and R-Motorsport rounded out the top six positions.
Herberth Motorsport’s Porsche led the way in the Am Cup with a lap time good enough for 12th overall, putting it ahead of all Pro-Am and Silver Cup competitors.
Ram Racing was the best-placed Pro-Am team in 21st overall while Ombra Racing led the Silver Cup field.
The session was ended prematurely when the Antonelli Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 stopped on track with less than two minutes on the clock.
Qualifying will get underway at 8:10 p.m. local time ahead of Night Practice at 10:30 p.m.
