SRO Motorsports Group and Amazon Web Services have committed to a multi-year extension of its global sponsorship, further strengthening an alliance that began in 2019 and was significantly expanded in 2020.
The renewed agreement will see AWS continue as global technology provider to SRO and as global presenting sponsor for GT World Challenge, encompassing the continental GT3 series in America, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
“I am thrilled to see our partnership with SRO extended as they continue to digitally transform the science of racing by building on AWS.” said Amazon CISO CJ Moses.
“Motorsport is filled with data that must be securely stored, queried, and analysed at scale, often under demanding time requirements. AWS provides the tools needed to meet these challenges to delight the league, the teams, and the fans.”
Since beginning the collaboration, SRO has relied on AWS for its industry-leading expertise, particularly through the adoption of its comprehensive cloud platform, machine learning and AI tools.
Launched in 2006, AWS offers a suite of more than 200 services, including compute, storage, and database solutions.
AWS-powered video streaming and content delivery solutions have helped to enrich the viewing experience of fans around the world by allowing SRO to share high-definition, low-latency broadcasts of its events.
Races are live-streamed on the official GT World YouTube channel and SRO Motorsports Twitch account, providing increasing visibility and accessibility as viewers are able to tune in from countries around the world. SRO looks forward to deploying more AWS-based tools in the coming months and years.
In addition to its status as Global Technology Provider and Global Presenting Sponsor, AWS will again serve as the official series sponsor for Pirelli GT4 America and TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing in 2025. It also will continue as the presenting sponsor of GT America powered by AWS.
GT World Challenge powered by AWS was launched in 2019 and comprises continental GT3 series in Asia, America, Australia, and Europe. Combining sprint and endurance racing at some of the most iconic circuits on the planet, each awards its own titles, while a combined global classification recognises the manufacturer that performs most consistently across the four continents.
GT World Challenge America powered by AWS will launch its 2025 season at Sonoma Raceway March 29-30, while the battle for the Australian title begins one week later at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. The European and Asian series kick off on April 12-13, competing at Circuit Paul Ricard and Sepang International Circuit respectively.
“I am delighted to announce that SRO Motorsports Group and Amazon Web Services have agreed to a multiyear extension of the sponsorship that was first formed in 2019,” said SRO founder and CEO Stephane Ratel.
“From the outset AWS have been partners in the truest sense, offering meaningful support and expertise thanks to their cloud computing capabilities.
“It is a source of great pride that SRO maintains such a close association with this forward-thinking, globally recgonized organization.
“We have always prioritized long-term relationships with first-rate sponsors and this renewed agreement confirms the enduring strength of our collaboration.”
