Vincenzo Sospiri Racing has become the first team running the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 to reveal a full driver lineup for this year’s GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS.
The Lamborghini stalwart has announced that Loris Spinelli and Mattia Michelotto will race the new machine within the Gold Cup class of the Sprint Cup this year.
Both drivers have a long association with the Italian manufacturer’s cars, Michelotto having sporadically raced Huracans in the series in recent years, while Spinelli was part of Imperiale Racing’s lineup last season.
“Myself and the whole VSR crew are extremely proud to continue our relationship with Lamborghini by being one of the first teams to race the new Temerario,” said VSR boss Vincenzo Sospiri.
“It will be a steep learning curve for everyone involved but we have two very competitive drivers and the invaluable support of Lamborghini Squadra Corse alongside us for this new adventure.”
Michelotto added: “I’m really looking forward to this year and my first full GT World Challenge campaign. I can’t wait to get to started!
“There is a lot of work to do with the new car but I know that Loris, myself, Lamborghini and VSR will give it all we can and do our very best to bring home some excellent results.”
Spinelli described GTWC Europe as “the championship I’ve always been aiming for” and that competing with the Temerario makes it “even more exciting.”
“From a technical standpoint, it will be crucial to find the right direction with the new car from the very beginning, focusing on understanding its characteristics and optimizing the setup,” he said. “Starting the season with a solid baseline will be key to arriving fully prepared for the first round.”
VSR is one of three squads that will field Temerarios in GTWC Europe in the car’s first year of competition.
Lamborghini confirmed last month that Rutronik Racing and Grasser Racing Team will also run the new machine in the series during 2026.
