A heavy crash involving the No. 77 Attempto Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R and No. 53 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 brought out the second Full Course Yellow 90 minutes into the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Porsche factory driver Kevin Estre was leaving the pitlane and rejoining the track at the exit of Raidillon when he made contact with Ishikawa Motoaki in the No. 53 Ferrari, who kept his racing line.

Both cars made heavy contact with the armco barriers, sustained considerable damage in the incidents and retired.

Both drivers escaped serious injuries, although Estre was seen limping when exiting his car.

A Full Course Yellow was brought out, followed by the safety car ten minutes later as the barriers needed repairing.

It is expected the repairs will take another 30 minutes until 7 p.m. local time.

Several cars of the leading group made use of the opportunity to make an early stop, including the No. 2 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS of Robin Frijns, who was pressuring Mirko Bortolotti’s leading No. 16 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3.
