***Joao Barbosa set the fastest time in morning warmup in the No. 5 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R. Marc Goosens was second fastest for VisitFlorida Racing in the team’s No. 90 Riley Mk. 30 Gibson, followed by Scott Sharp in the No. 2 Nissan Onroak DPi for Tequila Patron ESM.

***The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac returned to the track this morning after its qualifying shunt yesterday, setting the fourth-fastest speed with Ricky Taylor behind the wheel.

***Jeroen Mul topped the GT Daytona class in the 20 minute session in the No. 16 Change Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 while Pato O’Ward took top honors in Prototype Challenge for Performance Tech Motorsports.

***The lone major incident of the warmup involved the No. 85 JDC-Miller Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson which made contact with a barrier on its out lap with Misha Goikhberg behind the wheel. The team replaced the front bodywork and the car returned to the track for several more laps of practice but was significantly off the pace.

***It was a tough qualifying result yesterday for Mercedes-AMG teams, with Ben Keating in eighth for Riley Team AMG as the top qualifier for the marque. The good news for the affable Texan is that he and co-driver Jeroen Bleekemolen won from the same starting position in the last round at Circuit of The Americas. Fellow Mercedes-AMG competitors SunEnergy1 Racing and WeatherTech Racing, will start 10th and 11th, respectively.

***The No. 26 BAR1 Motorsports PC entry of Bruno Junqueira and Tomy Drissi will start at the back of the P and PC grid after failing the ride height requirements in the post-qualifying tech inspection. The car had been slated to start second in the three-car PC field.

***Occasional Pirelli World Challenge competitor Ernie Francis Jr. won the Trans-Am race on Saturday morning.
