Alex Job Racing confirmed Saturday that it has ordered the first two new Porsche 911 GT3 Rs to compete in the 2016 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, following the new car’s announcement last week.

Both Cooper MacNeil and Leh Keen, in the No. 22 WeatherTech-backed entry, and Ian James and Mario Farnbacher, in the No. 23 Team Seattle effort, will return for another season under the AJR umbrella.

“Alex Job Racing has been a true leader in North American motorsports with Porsche,” said Jens Walther, President/CEO, Porsche Motorsport North America.

“Now, with the latest Porsche 911 GT3 R slated to come here to race in 2016, he is set to continue in that position.

“It is little surprise that longtime Porsche stalwarts David MacNeil and Gabe Newell have ordered the first Porsche 911 GT3 R for North America in conjunction with Alex.

“This is a very exciting time for Porsche and racing, and it is good to chart the future with people that have so strongly helped define your past.”

Job looks forward to the next chapter of the AJR/Porsche relationship.

“We have been with Porsche for over 26 years and we are ready to go into the next phase of sports car racing together,” Job said.

“David MacNeil and Gabe Newell agreed that the new Porsche was the way to go for the future. This early commitment will give us an opportunity to get familiar with the new car and begin our testing program in early fall.”

The car will be making its competition debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona on Jan. 30-31, 2016.
