Dempsey Confirms Wright Partnership for NAEC

Patrick Dempsey will continue in the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup rounds for 2015, as he has announced a partnership with Wright Motorsports.

The team will be known as Dempsey/Wright Motorsports and see Dempsey, Madison Snow, Jan Heylen and a fourth driver to be determined compete in the four longest rounds of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season.

Heylen and Snow will run the balance of the season on their own, thus confirming another full-season entry.

“Although I’ll be doing a great deal of racing in Europe next year, I’m excited to also be racing in my home country in these four premier events,” said Dempsey, who has already announced a full-season entry into the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2015 in partnership with Proton Competition.

“I’m also excited to further my relationship with Wright Motorsports. I enjoy working with Madison and Jan, as well as with John Wright and everyone at Wright Motorsports.”

Wright partnered with Dempsey for the second half of 2014 and was impressed with what he saw.

“We started racing with Patrick Dempsey at Indy last year, building on our relationship trackside, and I was immediately impressed with his enthusiasm, passion and talent,” Wright said.

“He has the ability to perform well in this sport. His drive last year at VIR [Virginia International Raceway] proved this to me. We were forced to start in last place, but Patrick drove through the field to third place before our first pit stop.”

Beautyrest mattresses, Bilstein shocks, Spyder active sportswear and Universal Industrial Sales will serve as commercial partners for the team’s GT Daytona class No. 58 Porsche 911 GT America.

The Dempsey Racing effort, as its own entity, has discontinued its U.S. operations with its staff moving onto new opportunities.
