Endurance-Info has learned that Courage is in discussions with the Russian manufacturer for a possible single-car effort in the European Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
While it’s understood a deal has not yet been finalized, discussions have already taken place for potential drivers.
The program would see a renewed collaboration between Courage and BR01 designer Paolo Catone, who had played a role in Courage’s past prototype projects.
Courage sold the assets of his Le Mans-based firm to ORECA in 2007 but has still played an active role in the sports car racing scene, most recently running a Porsche 911 GT3-R under the Strategic banner in the French GT Championship.
Courage hasn’t competed at Le Mans, as a team owner, since 2007 when it entered two Courage LC70s in LMP1.
It’s known that BRo Engineering has been actively pursuing customers for an ELMS campaign, with its SMP Racing squad re-entering the FIA World Endurance Championship in LMP2 this year with two of the BR01s.
