Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Lindsey will be joined by Egidio Perfetti in Project 1 Motorsport’s debut into the FIA World Endurance Championship, the team has announced.
The trio will complete the entire 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship ‘Super Season’ in a Porsche 911 RSR running in the GTE-Am category.
Lindsey is a regular in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship driving the Park Place Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R alongside factory driver Bergmeister.
Both drivers are set for a Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup effort this year in addition to their WEC program.
“Starting in the RSR for the first time in 2018 is a dream come true,” said Lindsey.
“I already know my teammate Joerg Bergmeister very well, as we have been driving in U.S. races together since 2016 and I’m sure he will be a big help during my new challenge.”
Perfetti completes the lineup having racked up recent experience in the Michelin Le Mans Cup and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
The German squad is one of four GTE-Am class Porsches to have received full-season entries, alongside two mid-engined 911 RSRs from Dempsey Proton Racing and a single Gulf Racing car.
Porsche Young Professionals Matteo Cairoli and Matt Campbell have so far been the only confirmed drivers in the pair of Proton-run entries.
Michael Wainwright and Ben Barker, meanwhile, are set to return to Gulf Racing for a third consecutive WEC season.
