Aston Martin’s new GTE challenger has been spied testing, ahead of its expected competition debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship next year.
The new-for-2018 Vantage GTE car, featuring what’s believed to be a turbocharged AMG V8 powerplant, was caught testing recently at Rockingham Motor Speedway, in an exclusive video provided by an undisclosed source to Sportscar365.
Both the race car, and new road-going Vantage, which is also set to feature an AMG V8, is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
It’s understood a GT3 variant of the car is not due out until 2019, after initial considerations of a parallel launch.
The British manufacturer has been testing its new-generation Vantage since July and, along with all new or modified GTE/GT3 cars, must be presented to the FIA’s Balance of Performance test in Ladoux this month.
