The liveries for the pair of Craft-Bamboo Porsche 911 GT3 Rs that will take part in next weekend’s FIA GT World Cup have been revealed.
The No. 991 Porsche, to be driven by Macau debutant Mathieu Jaminet, will feature Porsche Design colors, with Darryl O’Young’s No. 55 entry carrying a bold Vita VLT livery for the fifth consecutive year.
Jaminet, a Porsche Young Professional driver, will be making his second start with the team after being part of its lineup in the Suzuka 10 Hours in August.
The dark chrome liveried car is currently on display in an art exhibit by award-winning Norwegian photographer Thomas Sandfield.
“It’s a great pleasure to welcome Porsche Design on board with us to take on the famed Macau Grand Prix,” said team chairman Frank Yu.
“The FIA GT World Cup brings together the best GT drivers and teams from all around the world, and to be a part of it with such an exclusive brand like Porsche Design is fantastic.”
Jaminet added: “It’s going to be my first time on this crazy track, I’ve heard so much about it and watched so many races there. It’s going to be really nice to finally be part of it and get my first experience driving there.
“My teammate Darryl will try to guide me and bring me up to speed as quickly as possible, giving me lots of tips. It’s going to be a really good weekend and I hope for a very strong result.”
O’Young, meanwhile, is set for his 15th consecutive Macau appearance, in what is considered the Hong Kong driver’s home event.
“The Vita VLT race car livery has become an iconic part of the event, and competing in the event with an HK sponsor, and HK team makes this truly a Hong Kong effort in the World Cup,” he said.
“My aim is to bring Hong Kong its first World Championship victory as a driver, and aim to raise my Macau victory tally to four wins.”
A total of four Porsches will be on the grid for the Nov. 15-18 event, with factory drivers Laurens Vanthoor and Earl Bamber at the wheel of Manthey Racing-run entries.
