Nate Cicero claimed back-to-back IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge poles, giving McCumbee McAleer Racing its third consecutive top qualifying effort ahead of Saturday’s Road America 120.
Cicero reeled off a flying lap of 2:14.441 in the No. 13 Ford Mustang GT4 to edge out the No. 39 CarBahn with Peregrine Racing BMW M4 GT4 EVO of Sean McAlister by 0.640 seconds.
McAlister made a late-session improvement, demoting the No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Luca Mars to third.
Mars went off course in Turn 13 while trying to improve on his time although managed to return to the pits without bringing out a red flag.
Paul Holton qualified fourth in the No. 46 Team TGM Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo, with Robert Michaelian completing the top-five in the No. 59 KohR Motorsports Mustang GT4.
TCR class pole honors went again to LP Montour in the No. 93 MMG Honda Civic FL5 TCR, who outpaced the No. 7 Precision Racing LA Audi RS 3 LMS TCR of Celso Neto by 0.499 seconds.
Montour’s time was good enough for the sixth quickest time overall.
Mark Wilkins qualified third in class in the No. 33 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR, ahead of teammate Mason Filippi in fourth.
