Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is under a new ownership group led by Peter Thomson, with Chris Pfaff and Alek Krstic as partners.
Announced on Thursday, the new group replaces Canadian Motorsports Ventures Ltd., which had purchased the track from Don Panoz in 2011. Former Corvette factory driver Ron Fellows and Carlo Fidani, the father of 13 Autosport owner/driver Orey, had been in the previous ownership group.
The existing management team and staff, led by Myles Brandt, will remain in place during the transition.
Thomson, a rally driver and venture capitalist, is part of Canada’s wealthiest family and holds a 10 percent stake of The Woodbridge Company, while Pfaff the President and CEO of Pfaff Automotive Partners, a major Canadian luxury car dealer that also owns IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro squad Pfaff Motorsports.
“The new ownership team is committed to preserving Mosport’s history, supporting its existing community of fans, teams, and event partners, and ensuring that all scheduled activities and operations continue uninterrupted,” a statement read.
“The team recognizes the significance of CTMP’s past and intends to honor that legacy while preparing the facility for its next era of growth.”
Pfaff added: “Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is a place with deep heritage and a loyal community. Our team is proud to be its next steward. We’re committed to respecting everything that makes CTMP special today, while building the foundation for an elevated experience in the years ahead.
“We look forward to sharing more of our vision this February.”
The vision will be unveiled at the Canadian International Auto Show, where the ownership group will share the roadmap for CTMP’s long-term development, investment strategy, and enhanced role within the Canadian motorsport and entertainment spaces.
