Eric Filgueiras claimed pole for Saturday’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Watkins Glen International, putting RS1 atop the time sheets.
Filgueiras drove his No. 28 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport to a best lap of 1:54.499, outpacing the No. 14 Riley Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 of Alfredo Najri by 0.212 seconds.
Kenny Murillo qualified third in the No. 72 Murillo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4, followed by Patrick Gallagher’s Corsa Horizon with mc Squared Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in fourth.
The No. 60 KohR Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4 of Luca Mars completed the top-five overall and in the GS class ahead of Dillon Machavern’s No. 95 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 and the Eric Foss-driven No. 56 Murillo Racing Mercedes.
TCR saw Mason Filippi score top qualifying honors in the No. 77 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR.
Filippi’s 1:56.955 lap time edged out the No. 17 Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports Audi RS 3 LMS TCR of Chris Miller by 0.067 seconds.
Robert Wickens made it two BHA Hyundais in the top-three, followed by teammate Parker Chase in the No. 98 Hyundai.
The Sebring class-winning No. 99 VGMC Honda Civic Type-R TCR of Victor Gonzalez completed the top-five in class.
