Trent Hindman led the way across both IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Friday practice sessions at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The RS1 driver set at 1:30.320 lap time to solidify his position atop the day’s time sheets in the morning practice session aboard the No. 28 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport he shares with Steven McAleer, 0.318 seconds clear of Philip Ellis’s No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Luca Mars was third-fastest in his and Bob Michaelian’s No. 59 KohR Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4.

Meanwhile, Baby Bull Racing’s Michael Cooper and Archangel Motorsports’ Aaron Telitz were fourth and fifth fastest respectively, with just 0.524 seconds covering the top-five drivers.

Slightly cooler conditions during first practice appeared to produce faster lap time across the board, with the fastest drivers in each class all setting their quickest laps in the morning’s 60-minute session.

A late improvement in Practice 1 from Dai Yoshihara saw the No. 93 Montreal Motorsports Group’s Honda Civic FL5 TCR top the times in the TCR class with a 1:31.188. The Japanese driver bested Tim Lewis’ best effort aboard the KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by 0.130 seconds.

Harry Gottsaker set the third fastest time about the No. 33 Bryan Herta Autosport Electra N TCR, while Chris Miller’s class-topping time from second practice being good enough for fourth-quickest on the day.

A brief red flag for debris only momentary halted running in first practice, with no such stoppages impacting Practice 2.

A split qualifying gets underway beginning at 8 a.m. EDT tomorrow for TCR cars, followed by GS qualifying at 8:20 a.m.

RESULTS: Practice (Combined)
