Liddell Fastest in Final Sebring Practice

Rebel Rock Racing’s Robin Liddell set the pace in the second and final practice session for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge round at Sebring International Raceway, which saw four different brands represented in the top five.

Liddell steered the No. 71 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo to a best lap of 2:09.653, going 0.250 seconds faster than RS1 driver Jan Heylen in the process.

Heylen had led Wednesday’s first practice session aboard the No. 28 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS.

Gregory Liefhooghe took third aboard the No. 19 Stephen Cameron Racing Ford Mustang GT4, with Daniel Morad making it four different brands inside the top four behind the wheel of the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Morgan Burkhard rounded out the overall top five in the No. 67 Czabok-Simpson Motorsport Porsche, ahead of Caio Chaves’ No. 54 Panam Motorsport Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO and the No. 13 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford piloted by Sam Paley.

Porsche and Toyota runners made up the remainder of the top ten, with Spencer Pumpelly eighth for BGB Motorsports in front of Hattori Motorsports driver Zach Veach and JDC-Miller Motorsports’ Mikey Taylor.

Honda kept its spot at the front of the TCR field, courtesy of a 2:11.964 posted by LP Montour’s No. 93 Montreal Motorsports Group Civic FL5 TCR.

The Canadian was followed by a trio of Hyundai entries, led by the No. 98 Bryan Herta Autosport Elantra N TCR of Mason Fillippi, followed by Tyler Gonzalez in the No. 99 Victor Gonzalez Racing Team machine and a second BHA machine driven by Denis Dupont.

No red flags were required during the one-hour session.

Thursday track action for Pilot Challenge continues with qualifying, scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET.
