Rockwell Autosport Development has confirmed a two-car full season effort with Audi RS 3 LMS TCR cars in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge next year.

The New Jersey-based operation, which previously ran under the Belgard and Techniseal Racing banner, will field two Gen 1 Audis, anchored by Denis Dupont (No. 15) and Preston Brown (No. 10), with Nick Looijmans, Eric and Alex Rockwell set as co-drivers.

It marks an expansion of the team’s previous efforts in the TCR class.

“Last season we showed that the car and the team are very competitive in TCR and having Nick Looijmans and Eric Rockwell as my co-drivers, I feel we can do very well in this season’s championship,” said Dupont.

Looijmans added: “I am looking forward to racing with Denis in IMSA. It is a premier series and I can’t wait to compete in a very closely contested TCR class.

“Having raced with Rockwell Autosport Development and Denis Dupont last season, I feel we are positioned to do very well.”

Brown, who contested five races with the team this year, has signed up for a full season campaign.

“My experience last season with the series and the team made the decision of committing to a full season easy,” he said. “The Audi is a great platform and I am looking forward to competing with it in IMSA.”

The team, which made its Pilot Challenge debut in 2021, has grown from as single-car, partial season effort into a two-car championship-contending effort in just two years.

“We always strive to do the best we can and improve with every practice, every race, every event and every season,” said team principal Eric Rockwell.

Alex Rockwell added: “We enjoyed many successes last season, and will be building on those to do even more in ‘23.

“Our team has shown that we can compete for the podium in every race. We know the Audi TCR platform very well, and for 2023 decided to stay with a DSG and a Gen1 car.

“We have done all our homework and all that’s left is to get out on the track and perform at our best.”
