Stevenson Motorsports posted the fastest lap of the day in two one-hour Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge practice sessions at Sebring International Raceway.
The No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R driven by Andy Lally and Matt Bell ended the afternoon session on top of GS and overall with the fastest lap of the day, 2:16.999, with Bell setting the fastest time.
Another Camaro, the No. 01 CKS Autosport Camaro Z/28.R driven by Lawson Aschenbach and Eric Curran, finished second in the session at 2:17.085.
Multimatic Motorsports’ No. 158 Ford Mustang Boss 302R driven by Ian James and Billy Johnson was third at 2:17.273.
Fall-Line Motorsports’ No. 46 BMW M3, driven by Trent Hindman and John Edwards, led the opening one-hour practice at 2:17.076, but were unable to improve in the afternoon session.
In ST, Mazda swept the top three positions with a trio of MX-5s.
The No. 26 Freedom Autosport Mazda MX-5 driven by Andrew Carbonell and Randy Pobst was fastest in class on the day at 2:25.024; Carbonell set the fastest time.
Second and third were the two CJ Wilson Racing Mazdas. The No. 5 driven by Stevan McAleer and Chad McCumbee was second at 2:25.322 and the No. 3 of Marc Miller and Tyler McQuarrie third at 2:25.849.
The No. 42 Team Sahlen Porsche Cayman of Wayne and Will Nonnamaker led a pair of Porsches in the morning session, with a best time of 2:25.748. That car fell off by two tenths of a second in the afternoon.
CTSC’s only on-track activity on Thursday will be qualifying. ST qualifies from 12:55 to 1:10 p.m. ET, and GS from 1:20 to 1:35 p.m ET.
