The Acura NSX GT3 has been given a weight increase ahead of next weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, in the only significant Balance of Performance adjustment ahead of the sixth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

IMSA confirmed Thursday the BoP tables for Watkins Glen, which sees the Detroit class-winning Acura gain 10kg, bringing the car’s minimum weight up to 1320kg.

No other changes have been made to the GTD class, aside from a 2 liter fuel capacity reduction for the BMW M6 GT3.

A total of four GT3-spec Acuras will be on the grid for the third round of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup, with the two Meyer Shank Racing cars being joined by the returning CJ Wilson Racing and HART entries.

The BoP in the Prototype class is also largely unchanged, with only 2 liter fuel decreases for both the Acura ARX-05 and Cadillac DPi-V.R.

No changes have been announced for the GT Le Mans class.

Insane. How long are IMSA going to let the Acuras walk away with the top class?

Walk away? Paul Miller Racing and Lamborghini are leading GTD.

“Walk away…” and Paul Miller Racing (a Lambo team remember) have come in the podium of this class every single race this season. The only team that is within striking distance of them at the moment is a team whose presence is confirmed race by race, so you’re kinda wrong with that.

Yeah, I guess it was okay last year when they let the Caddies walk away, huh.

A 10kg increase in weight is trying to slow them down. Did you want more or did I missed the sarcasm?

Somebody has to win the championship, why not Acura? Especially routing for Katherine Legge. She and the 86 car were not going to be fully campaigned and now they are in position to take the whole thing. Kudos. Last year they were in the mix too, I can think of incidents at VIR and Road America that certainly cost the 86 a podium. I used to think that AJR was too much like a factory effort, but not as much this year. Certainly no more than Land or some others in the GTD class. Also think a female class champ would be great for the sport.

Totally agree. Also want to highlight the fantastic job Christina Nielsen has been doing holding the GTD champion banner high.

While I also gladly root for Legge to do well and win, There is no way she is a silver ranking. Whoever thinks she’s only a silver has never seen her professional resume.

Her silver ranking is one of the worst FIA ratings out there. She’s a professional driver who has been put into the AM class.

The article is about the GTD car but some have taken the opportunity to bash the DPi Acura or they are just too stupid to know the difference and should stop posting.

      Or they’re just a GM-bashing troll.

Or maybe you don’t mind all our tax dollars keeping them afloat.

        Maybe you don’t pay taxes.

If you aren’t bothered by what happened, that’s a very negative indication about you Andy.

I don’t mind if dipshits call me a “GM-bahing troll”. They should be bashed at every turn.

And I guess you are one of those who are too stupid to know the difference between the two classes and should stop posting.

You quoted me but I ain’t the one that posted about the Caddies.

        You are an idiot.
