The Acura ARX-06 is set for its shakedown this week, ahead of track testing this weekend in France.
Leading French publication Endurance-Info reports that the ORECA-chassied LMDh car is being readied for its first run, which will occur at the Paul Ricard airfield with HPD factory driver Ricky Taylor at the wheel.
Contrary to a report published by another media outlet on Monday, the car has yet to be rolled out, with the single-day shakedown set to be followed by a full day of running at Magny-Cours on Saturday.
It will then head to the U.S. for further testing, which Sportscar365 understands will begin at Sebring International Raceway following this week’s first group test.
The ARX-06 will become the third LMDh to take to the track following the Porsche 963 and yet-to-be-named Cadillac prototype, with BMW understood to be shaking down its BMW M Hybrid V8 car for the first time later this month.
Wayne Taylor Racing and Meyer Shank Racing will campaign the Acura LMDh cars in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next year, splitting duties as the two factory-backed teams in the new-for-2023 GTP class.
