CDR Valkyrie has announced plans to step up to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD class, fielding a Porsche 911 GT3 R.
The California-based squad recently made its Michelin Pilot Challenge debut at Sebring last month, where it entered a single Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo for Amir Haleem and Bryan Lock.
Prior to that, it ran a two-car operation at last year’s GT America powered by AWS round at Road America, where Haleem drove a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 and Lock piloted an Acura NSX GT3 Evo22.
The team on Saturday shared renders of its recently delivered Porsche fitted with a livery similar to that of its Pilot Challenge GT4 machinery, declaring that it intends to enter “select events in 2024 and beyond,” but did not name a specific timeframe for its debut.
It also did not yet name any drivers for its fledgling effort.
Notably, the render shows its Porsche fitted with No. 86, a number used by the MDK Motorsports full-season GTD entry, but CDR Valkyrie declared on social media that the number shown on the render is “definitely temporary.”
The WeatherTech Championship GTD class returns to action at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 19-20.
