Jamie Chadwick has been named as the grand marshal of the 63rd running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The British racer, who is set to compete in this year’s European Le Mans Series with IDEC Sport, will deliver the “drivers, start your engines” command for this year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener.
“It is an honour to be grand marshal of the Rolex 24 at Daytona and, as the spiritual home of Rolex and motorsport, I am looking forward to reflecting on the history, while watching some great racing,” said Chadwick.
“I’m excited to be involved and hope to join the line up at Daytona in the future.”
While Chadwick has never competed in the WeatherTech Championship, she ventured into American racing with two seasons in Indy NXT, taking a maiden series victory at Road America last year.
“Jamie Chadwick is a true ambassador for global motorsport and the perfect representative to serve as grand marshal,” said Frank Kelleher, President of Daytona International Speedway.
“Jamie has been a champion on the track since her earliest days of racing, and she has been at the forefront of promoting inclusivity in racing throughout her career.”
