GB Autosport announced Friday that it has signed a two-year deal with Damien Faulkner, who will spearhead the team’s efforts in next year’s TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
The Irishman will be joined by Duncan Huisman and Bob Faieta in the No. 81 Porsche 911 GT America for the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona next month.
“It’s great to sign a two-year deal that ties me to this series. This is where I want to be,” Faulkner said. “I believe GB Autosport is serious about their aspirations and being the fastest Porsche will be right up there on the ‘to-do-list’.”
All three drivers are no strangers to Porsche machinery, including four-time Supercup champion Huisman.
“I’ve worked with Cole (Scrogham, Team Manager), Mario (Prezel, Chief Engineer),Bob (Faieta) and Damien (Faulkner) before and we all understand what it takes to be successful so I feel confident that we will be able to do a good job,” said Huisman.
“I will support the team with my experience in terms of setting up the car in a way where all the drivers and team will benefit.”
The newly formed team will make their on-track debut in next month’s Roar Before the Rolex 24 on Jan. 3-5.
