Romain Grosjean set the quickest time on the second day of IMSA-sanctioned testing at Daytona International Speedway, which saw the final three sessions for GTP and LMP2 machinery and the first running for GTD Pro and GTD cars.

The Swiss driver reeled off a 1:35.661 lap in the No. 63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini SC63 early in the two-hour night practice session before co-driver Andrea Caldarelli slowed on track and pulled his LMDh machine into the garage in the final half-hour.

Nevertheless, Grosjean’s time was quick enough to best Nick Yelloly’s pace-setting lap from the morning session in the No. 93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing ARX-06 by 0.097 seconds.

The Lamborghini driver’s lap proved to be the quickest overall across both days of allotted testing time for GTP and LMP2 cars.

BMW M Team RLL’s Marco Wittmann set the third-best time of the day, and the fifth fastest across both days in the No. 25 BMW M Hybrid V8, with stablemate Robin Frijns close behind.

Renger van der Zande’s best lap in the No. 93 Acura MSR machine from the morning session was the fifth quickest time from Day 2.

Both Team RLL BMWs spent significant time in the garage in the afternoon’s four-and-a-half-hour session, with the cars undergoing engine changes immediately following the morning session.

However, the No. 24 and No. 25 cars both made it back out on track inside the final hour and would go on to set the second and third-quickest times in the following evening practice session.

Wayne Taylor Racing’s No. 40 Cadillac V-Series.R also spent time in the garage during the day’s second and third practice sessions but still managed to turn laps in both.

CrowdStrike Racing by APR led the way in all three Saturday sessions in LMP2, with Malthe Jakobsen’s 1:38.902 benchmark time from the afternoon proving to be the quickest time of the day.

Jackobsen bested his own night practice-leading time to claim the two quickest LMP2 lap times on Saturday.

Ford Multimatic Motorsports proved quickest in GTD Pro, with both factory Ford Mustang GT3s finishing 1-2 in all three sessions.

Overall, it was Dennis Olsen’s 1:48.177 second time aboard his No. 65 machine set on his final flying lap in the longer afternoon session that outpaced teammate Christopher Mies’ best effort in the same car that evening.

Meanwhile, Wright Motorsports’ Elliott Skeer set the quickest GTD time of the day in the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R, with his 1:48.438 second lap set in the morning proving insurmountable in the following two sessions.

All three Saturday sessions ran without a yellow flag interruption, only featuring a small handful of cars taking to the runoff or spinning and resuming under their own power.

Sunday marks the final day of testing in Daytona, with only GTD Pro and GTD class cars scheduled to run in the final two sessions.

Track action begins with a four-hour session at 9 a.m. ET, followed by a three-hour afternoon session slated for 2:00 p.m.

RESULTS: Session 3/ Session 4/Session 5
