IMSA has made further Balance of Performance adjustments beyond the originally confirmed change to the Aston Martin Vantage GT3, ahead of next weekend’s Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway.
Confirmed in an additional technical bulletin on Friday afternoon, both the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and Porsche 911 GT3 R have received weight, power and fuel capacity adjustments.
The Mercedes will be 15 kg heavier but with a 0.5 mm larger air restrictor, equatable to a 7 horsepower increase.
The Porsche, meanwhile, has been given 10 kg of additional ballast and a 2 mm larger air restrictor (+5.3 hp).
Both of the GT3-spec machines have also been given 1-liter increases in fuel capacity.
The Aston Martin’s changes — a 12 horsepower decrease and 4-liter fuel capacity reduction — remains unchanged in the bulletin. It had originally been the only production-based car that underwent a change.
