IMSA has confirmed the timeline and procedure for entries for the 2027 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, which has been pushed back to November.

Issued in a competition bulletin on Thursday, just hours after the release of the 2027 schedule, entries will again open the Tuesday following the Road America event on Aug. 4.

However, full season, Michelin Endurance Cup and Rolex 24-only entries will now be accepted through Nov. 10, with driver deadlines set for Nov. 24.

The entry list release for the 2027 Rolex 24, meanwhile, will be released on Dec. 9, with teams informed of their entries nine days earlier.

By comparison, the 2026 entry list, featuring full season and Endurance Cup entrants, was announced at last year’s Motul Petit Le Mans on Oct. 9, followed by the preliminary Rolex 24 entry list two months later.

The change is understood to have been made due to competitor feedback, as well as the later date for the IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, which has been moved back by one month to Dec. 11-13.

This year’s sanctioned test was held in mid-November.
