Parker Kligerman will make his Rolex 24 at Daytona debut in a partnership with Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Racing and Forte Racing for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener.
The former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, who has worked for NBC Sports covering the Rolex 24 and other WeatherTech Championship races in recent years, will join Forte veteran Misha Goikhberg and two yet-to-be-confirmed drivers in the team’s No. 78 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.
Kligerman, who will not continue full-time in NASCAR competition next year, said competing in the Rolex 24 was at the ‘top of the list’ in terms of other motorsports events that the 34-year-old was looking to pursue.
“I’ve often talked about how much Scott and I love all forms of motorsports,” he said. “Over the past few years driving for Big Machine, it’s been amazing getting to know him and sharing that passion.
“When we realized my full-time driving career was coming to an end, we started wondering what cool motorsports adventures we could tackle together. At the top of that list was the Rolex 24!
“I’ve dreamed of competing in this race my whole life, and I can’t thank Scott and Big Machine Spiked Coolers enough for making this happen.”
Klingerman, along with prospective co-drivers, are understood to be testing with the Shane Senaviratne-led team at Daytona International Speedway this week.
“Forte Racing is a top-tier organization that’s always at the front in IMSA competition,” said Kligerman.
“I’m excited to get up to speed in the coming weeks and do my part to help us race for the win—and, of course, a Rolex.”
