Mazda Quickest in Warmup

Mazda Team Joest topped the time charts in warmup for this afternoon’s America’s Tire 250 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Harry Tincknell reeled off a 1:16.266 lap time late in the 20-minute session to put the No. 55 Mazda RT24-P quickest, nearly a half-second up on the No. 6 Team Penske Acura ARX-05 of Juan Pablo Montoya.

The No. 5 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R of Filipe Albuquerque made it three different DPi manufacturers in the top-three.

Richard Westbrook (No. 67 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT) and Ozz Negri (No. 51 Squadra Corse Garage Italia Ferrari 488 GT3) led the way in the GT Le Mans and GT Daytona classes, respectively.

Only 33 of the 34 cars set times, with the pole-sitting No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi electing to sit out the session.

The America’s Tire 250 gets underway at 2:05 p.m. PDT (5:05 p.m. EDT) with live coverage on FS1.
