Daniel Morad will join AIM Vasser Sullivan for next weekend’s TireRack.com Grand Prix at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta as part of a driver lineup shuffle within the two-car Lexus GT Daytona squad.
Morad, a Silver-rated driver, will join IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship class leader Jack Hawksworth and Michelin Endurance Cup driver Michael de Quesada in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3, with Aaron Telitz returning to the No. 12 car as the third driver alongside Townsend Bell and Frankie Montecalvo.
Telitz has served as Hawksworth’s full-season driver since the second round of the season at Sebring.
“Daniel is a competitive and successful GTD driver who will bring a lot of experience to the No. 14 AVS Lexus effort,” said team co-owner Jimmy Vasser.
Morad added: “I’m really looking forward to joining AVS at Road Atlanta and very thankful for the opportunity.
“I want to thank AVS for helping me pull this together. The team is really performing this season, and I’ve been focused on making my debut with them the best it can be.”
Telitz’s return to the No. 12 Lexus means he could now overtake Hawksworth in the GTD championship.
The two drivers are separated by three points entering the second round of the Endurance Cup.
No word has been given on AVS’ lineup for the remainder of the Endurance Cup races, although Telitz is understood to return to the No. 14 Lexus for the remaining sprint races.
