Multiple GT cars have been affected by Balance of Performance adjustments ahead of this weekend’s Motul Petit Le Mans season finale for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Confirmed by the sanctioning body last week, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 and Ferrari 296 GT3 have all been given weight increases for the ten-hour round at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Additionally, the BMW M4 GT3 has been given a power reduction, in the range of 4.4 horsepower.
The Ferrari, which makes its return with teams in both GTD Pro and GTD, has been the hardest hit with a 20 kg increase in minimum weight, compared to the Mercedes and Lamborghini, which will both run 15 kg heavier compared to the most recent round at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Additionally, five GT manufacturers have had one-liter fuel capacity adjustments for the race, with the BMW and Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 losing 1 liter and the Ferrari, Porsche 911 GT3 R and Corvette C8.R GTD, in its final race outing, gaining 1 liter of capacity.
The BoP for the GTP class, meanwhile, was already established prior to the Indianapolis event, seeing only minor tweaks to the configuration run at The Brickyard.
It includes a 1 kg weight break for the Acura ARX-06 and a 1 kW increase in maximum power for the Cadillac V-Series.R, Porsche 963 and BMW M Hybrid V8.
