The No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06 is undergoing a chassis change following Colin Braun’s accident in second practice for Saturday’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Braun slammed into the Turn 8 barriers halfway through Friday’s session, with heavy front-end damage sustained.

While the Texan climbed from the GTP entry under his own power, it was later determined that there was damage to the tub of the ORECA-chassied LMDh car, which has ruled it out of qualifying for the third round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

The No. 60 car of Braun and co-driver Tom Blomqvist, who set the second quickest time in Practice 1, would have lost its quickest time in qualifying regardless, due to Braun’s crash bringing out a red flag.

It will therefore likely start 11th, in last place, for the 100-minute race.

The No. 177 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo, which also had a heavy accident in the session, however, will be ready for qualifying per team principal Gunnar Jeanette.

Harry King lost control of the GTD class entry and made heavy side contact with the Turn 1 barriers.

Like Braun, King was uninjured in the shunt.
