Basecamp will be the primary sponsor of 3GT Racing’s No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship beginning with this weekend’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
The team’s recognizable ice-blue chrome has been exchanged for fire red chrome with the Basecamp.com logos.
3GT’s No. 14 Lexus will remain in the same blue livery.
David Heinemeier Hansson, who co-founded Basecamp in 2004, has joined the Michigan-based for a full-season GT Daytona class effort alongside the returning Jack Hawksworth.
The pairing will be joined by Sean Rayhall this weekend at Sebring.
Basecamp is an industry-leading cloud-based product management suite, with more than 3 million accounts.
“At first, we just hoped for additional monthly income,” Heinemeier Hansson said. “But it’s been an amazing success.
“Now I have a company that lets me sponsor race cars around the world. My professional life and my hobby meet when I see the logo on the side of the car.”
Team owner Paul Gentilozzi added: “We received a lot of attention last season with the twin blue chrome cars. We know people loved the blue but with a new sponsor on the No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3 it seemed like a good time to change up the livery.”
3GT’s sister No. 14 entry will be driven by Kyle Marcelli, Dominik Baumann and Philipp Frommenwiler this weekend.
