Paul Miller Racing is ‘keeping its options’ open for a potential switch of manufacturers for its 2026 GTD Pro campaign in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship according to team manager Mitchell Simmons.

The Georgia-based squad, which expanded into a two-car BMW M4 GT3 EVO operation this year, is understood to be in discussions with two other manufacturers, one of them being McLaren, although has not ruled out remaining with BMW.

The development comes amid plans for current GT World Challenge America powered by AWS points leaders Random Vandals Racing to expand into the WeatherTech Championship GTD Pro class with at least one BMW.

A move away from the German manufacturer for Paul Miller would end a four-year partnership that was highlighted by the 2023 GTD class title with Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow, prior to its move up to GTD Pro the following year.

It currently fields BMWs with full-factory driver lineups, with Snow, who became a works driver in 2024, and Neil Verhagen sitting fifth in the GTD Pro standings entering Sunday’s penultimate round of the season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Prior to its relationship with BMW, the team campaigned Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO machinery, also with considerable success.

“It’s no secret we’re talking to manufacturers,” Simmons told Sportscar365. “We’re keeping our options open to see what 2026 is going to do for us.

“Obviously we’ve got to make a decision that’s going to be best for Paul Miller Racing.

“Right now, we just don’t have that but we are talking to different manufacturers to see where we will land for 2026.”

Simmons said the “priority” would be to remain in the GTD Pro ranks, although it’s unclear if the team would remain as a two-car squad.

“That’s to be determined,” he said. “I’m not entirely sure. That’s part of the crux of what’s going on. We’ve got to make a decision on what we want to do vs. what’s available to us.”

A decision on its 2026 plans is expected to be made in the coming days.
