Pfaff Motorsports has confirmed a switch to Lamborghini ahead of an expected full season GTD Pro program in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The Canadian squad will run its third different GT3 car in as many years, with a new Huracan GT3 EVO2 entered for next month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona with drivers Jordan Pepper, Marco Mapelli, Andrea Caldarelli and James Hinchcliffe.
Full season drivers, nor a press release, have been issued by the Canadian squad, which revealed its new partnership on social media.
The longtime Porsche squad made the change to a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo this year, achieving limited success.
It was rumored to align with a new manufacturer when its McLaren was put up for sale following October’s Motul Petit Le Mans.
The new alliance with Lamborghini is understood to fulfill the Italian manufacturer’s commitment to GTD Pro, which was initially listed as a Michelin Endurance Cup-only effort for the No. 163 entry at IMSA’s initial entry list release in October.
The full Rolex 24 entry list is expected to be released later today.
