Mike Skeen will complete Starworks Motorsport’s lineup for this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen in the team’s Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo.
The Silver-rated driver joins full season pilots Ryan Dalziel and Parker Chase in the GT Daytona class contender for the third round of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.
Skeen takes the seat that had initially been nominated to Daniel Morad on the entry list, but only for procedural purposes, due to IMSA’s new-for-2019 mandate of three-driver lineups for the Watkins Glen and Motul Petit Le Mans enduros in GTD and LMP2.
“Starworks has always put together a strong program and it was exciting to see them join the GTD ranks this season,” Skeen said.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team for Watkins Glen–driving alongside Parker and Ryan will make for a quick lineup that should provide great consistency throughout the six hour sprint race we will see on Sunday.”
Ezequiel Perez Companc, who drove for the team in the opening two Endurance Cup rounds, was never scheduled to contest the Watkins Glen race due to his Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe commitments at Misano this weekend.
The Argentinian is recovering from a broken vertebra sustained in an accident in last month’s Paul Ricard 1000km but is expected to rejoin Starworks for the season-ending enduro at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
