Park Place Motorsports has put its final full-season element into place, announcing Monday that Craig Stanton will complete the team’s two-car GT Daytona effort.
The 2005 Rolex Series GT champion joins Dr. Jim Norman in the No. 71 Porsche 911 GT America for the entire 11-round championship.
Additional drivers for the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Craig was at the top of our recruit list for a handful of reasons,” Norman said. “Of course, he is fast but he also has the wisdom and knowledge to be a team leader on and off the track… In many ways Craig is the perfect fit for our team and for me personally.”
Stanton added: “Putting this deal together for the full season was easy which shows me that it was meant to be. It’s a dream come true and exciting in all aspects – team, co-driver, and sponsor. I’m looking forward to great results in 2014!”
Park Place’s newly confirmed No. 71 pairing will join the No. 73 entry of Patrick Lindsey and Kevin Estre.
Technical efforts for both cars will be led by John Horton, who is also a team principal.
