A late flyer by Ricky Taylor has put the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-05 atop the time charts in the first full-length practice session of the weekend at Road America.
Taylor was the only driver to break the 1:50 barriers on the dry track, reeling off a 1:49.752 on his final lap in the session.
It was 0.659 seconds faster than the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R of Felipe Nasr, with Tristan Vautier third quickest in the No. 5 JDC-Miller Motorsports Cadillac.
Oliver Jarvis in Friday’s pace-setting No. 55 Mazda RT24-P and the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac completed the top-five.
Mikkel Jensen topped the time charts in LMP2 in the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson, displacing Era Motorsport’s Ryan Dalziel, who held the quickest time for the majority of the session.
The No. 36 Andretti Autosport Ligier JS P320 Nissan of Oliver Aksew again paced LMP3.
GT Le Mans was led by the No. 79 WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Matt Campbell, who outpaced the pair of Chevrolet Corvette C8.Rs in the session.
Aaron Telitz, meanwhile, led the way in GT Daytona in the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Racing Lexus RC F GT3.
Telitz’s 2:06.002 lap time was 0.328 seconds clear of the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Robby Foley, with Richard Heistand third in the No. 39 CarBahn by Peregrine Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo.
A red flag for an accident by the No. 61 Wulver Racing Ligier LMP3 of Tonis Kasemets at Canada Corner was the only stoppage in the session, which restarted less than ten minutes to go.
Qualifying is set to get underway at at 1:50 p.m. CT.
