The No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 has lost its GT Daytona class pole, promoting Zach Robichon to the top qualifying position for Saturday’s Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle.
The Robby Foley-driven BMW was found to not have been in compliance with the mandated camber range settings in post-qualifying technical inspection, which has moved the car to the rear of the GTD starting field.
The new-for-2019 rule mandates that cars must remain within Michelin’s declared camber settings issued for each circuit.
It has elevated the No. 73 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Robichon to class pole alongside the No. 57 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo of Christina Nielsen, who will now start second.
The 100-minute race gets underway at 12:30 p.m. ET with live coverage on NBCSN.
