The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship is set to have its first doubleheader race of the season at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with both events to occur on Sunday, May 4 as part of a compressed weekend.

SCHEDULE: Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix

The Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix will feature split two-hour Prototype/GT Le Mans and Prototype Challenge/GT Daytona races, with the PC/GTD event to get underway at 10:15 a.m. PT and the P/GTLM feature set for later that day at 2:45 p.m. PT.

It’s part of a two-day event for TUDOR Championship competitors, which will see only two hours of combined practice time on Saturday, prior to qualifying in the late afternoon. No track activity is scheduled for Thursday or Friday, although development series will be in action those days.

IMSA elected to host split races due to issues accommodating the 60-plus full-season entries on the 2.238-mile, 11-turn circuit.

A similar split event will occur at Virginia International Raceway in August, which will see a GTLM/GTD round and two PC sprint races combined with IMSA Prototype Lites. P class cars will not compete at VIR.
