BMW M Team RLL will return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for a third consecutive season in the GTP class, the sanctioning body has confirmed, following the receipt of its two-car entry.
The Bobby Rahal-led crew will again operate the factory prototype effort, despite what has been considered a challenging season for the operation, which sits seventh and ninth in the GTP standings with two races to go.
BMW M Motorsport boss Andreas Roos denied rumors of the team scaling back to a single-car squad, with IMSA’s announcement on Wednesday confirming its continued two-car presence.
Driver lineups for the effort have yet to be announced although is expected to see at least one change.
