Renger van der Zande and Sebastien Bourdais will return to Chip Ganassi Racing’s Cadillac Racing operation for a third consecutive year as co-drivers, it has been confirmed.
The duo will again be joined by six-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon for January’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona and other selected Michelin Endurance Cup events.
Van der Zande and Bourdais, who were both understood to be on three-year contracts, join the previously confirmed Action Express Racing lineup of Pipo Derani and Jack Aitken for the full season, with Tom Blomqvist secured for the Endurance Cup rounds.
A Cadillac spokesperson confirmed that only the two full season Cadillac V-Series.R entries will contest Daytona in 2024, unlike this year’s debut that saw CGR bring in its FIA World Endurance Championship crew to field an additional third entry.
“We had some success racing the Cadillac V-Series.R across the 2023 IMSA season but we are expecting even more in 2024,” said CGR’s global director of operations Mike O’Gara.
“We are happy that Sebastien, Renger and Scott will again be in the 01 next year and that we can build on our learnings together.
“We have proven that the car has reliability, as both of our Cadillacs finished every lap of the 2023 Rolex 24 at Daytona. We led a lot of laps in many races last year, but not always the ones that counted.
“We are using the off-season to regroup and hit the reset button, so we can attack 2024 together.”
Van der Zande and Bourdais combined to score a victory at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and two additional podium finishes over the course of the first season of IMSA GTP competition.
